FAQs
How do I choose between Therapy vs. Coaching?
Both therapy and coaching focus on goals, introduce new skills to meet those goals, and provide motivation to achieve goals. Therapy is more emotion-oriented, focusing on the “why” of the past, present, and/or future; whereas Coaching is focused on the “how” and is exclusively future-oriented. Coaching is often shorter term than Therapy. We can discuss the best fit for your needs during our initial 15 minute free consultation.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept health insurance and do not bill health insurance companies directly. If you are seeking "out of network" provider reimbursement, I can provide a statement also known as a Super Bill. Health insurance policies vary widely, and providing a Super Bill is not a guarantee of reimbursement. Please know, submitting for reimbursement may require disclosure of treatment information including diagnosis. Please contact your insurance company to determine whether out of network reimbursement is an option for you.
What form of payments do you take?
I accept credit cards and cash. Payment is due at the time of the session, and I can bill credit cards automatically. In many cases, you can submit to your HSA or FSA for reimbursement.
Where do you practice?
Most services are delivered by Telehealth and we can discuss whether this is clinically appropriate during our 15min free consultation. All Therapy, Coaching, and Supervision services are available to meet in-person in Boulder, CO. I do have a limited number of Walking Therapy appointments available in the Boulder, CO area (e.g., at Boulder Valley Ranch, Chautauqua, Mud Lake in Nederland, Davidson Mesa in Louisville).
I am licensed to provide in-person and Telehealth services in Colorado (PSY.4864), Hawaii (PSY.2185), Montana (PSY.5431) and in Massachusetts (PSY 10000816), as well as authorized to provide Telehealth services in all 43 states PSYPACT participating states through the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) granted by the PSYPACT Commission E. Passport, Mobility #16594 issued 10/20/24.
The Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT) is an interstate compact designed to facilitate the practice of telepsychology and the temporary in-person, face-to-face practice of psychology across state boundaries.
